We have known since June 2014 that the Chico Police Department will no longer respond to house alarms unless they have confirmation that a crime has taken place. The Police Department said it received more than 3,000 false alarms in 2012, which is why it must now have evidence that a security breach has occurred before they send a team of officers. “That’s not productive police time,” said Lieutenant Mike O’Brien on responding to so many false alarms. “We can’t afford to do that anymore.”
Advanced Electric & Sound was the first company to hire an armed guard private protection firm to respond to security system alarms in the City of Chico. We feel it is in the customer’s best interest to have a private firm respond as the city’s resources are stretched thin.
For our monthly service security monitoring clients in Chico, we respond when your alarm goes off, sending an armed security officer to check the property. We’ll verify false alarms and reset your system, or call Chico PD to provide their required confirmation that a crime has taken place and get them to respond immediately to any real threat to your property or family safety.
